AMI Montessori assistant for 2–3-year-olds
Montessori En Ville (« Montessori In The City ») is looking for a 2-3 Montessori Assistant, AMI certified (or equivalent), to work along our 3-6 AMI guide taking in charge of our Children House bilingual ambiance.
Who are we ?
The school is located in Nantes (France) and is composed of 2 ambiances: one for the 2 to 6-year-olds and one for the 6 to 12-year-olds. Our team is completely bilingual, we work with a 1 person / 1 language model.
We are welcoming French and foreign children: some of them speak only French, some of them only English, and some of them neither French nor English. We work on providing a secure space for them to enter in both French and English languages.
We are welcoming a lot of 2-3 children in our Children House ambiance, which we adapted for them, but we need to reinforce our team’s skills with more knowledge and experience with the youngest children, which led us to this recruitment.

Job details
Under the school’s administrator management, and alongside our 3-6 AMI guide, who is also our pedagogical manager, you will work with children from 2 to 6 years old. Our guide is speaking only in French to the children, you will speak to them only in English.
Our French-speaking guide and you will carry together the Montessori pedagogy within the ambiance. You will look after the children’s fulfillment, help them find their path into the ambiance and assist them in their daily life.
The job is a 80% part time over the year:
• the school is open 4 days a week: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
• you will work from 8.30am to 4.30pm and up to 6.30pm once a week to take care of the afterschool + a 1 hour video meeting on Wednesday mornings
• you will have 12 weeks of holidays during the year (date following the “Zone B” National Education holidays calendar)
Monthly gross salary: 1560€

Profile :
• Montessori trained assistant for 0-3 year-olds, AMI certified (or equivalent)
• You already have professional experience with children between 2 and 3 years old
• Your values are in harmony with the school’s values: opening, loyalty, respect and solidarity
• You are autonomous and you want to participate to the project and to evolve with a growing school
• You are completely fluent in English, but French is not required!
• You are able to present:
• vocabulary activities in English (classified images for English-speaking kids, or French-speaking kids, English songs and other initiation activities)
• preliminary activities
